1 - GENERAL INFORMATION
1.1 - Agreement
By signing up for the ESS GT3 S2 championship, drivers agree to the following Championship Regulations, including eventual variations which might take place before the beginning of the season. Drivers must also accept all technical and disciplinary documentation produced by EsportSeries.net.
1.2 - Further Regulations
Together with the notions included in the following document, competing drivers must also follow any point discussed in (or during):
-
Code of Conduct;
-
Drivers' Briefing.
A Google Calendar is available to all teams and drivers to help them meet their deadlines. Users are encouraged to subscribe to this calendar in order to receive regular notifications and useful links. Subscribe to the ESS GT3 S2 Google Calendar by clicking HERE. The full calendar for the 2019/2020 season is available at THIS LINK.
1.3 - Minimum Hardware Requirements
-
Desktop computer (please check the game minimum system requirements on Steam);
-
ADSL Internet connection capable of providing a stable ping below 150ms (Race Direction will kick from the server all players whose Internet connection is unable to provide a satisfactory performance and might cause danger for other drivers on track - see Article 3.13 for details). Drivers are encouraged to turn off their WiFi.
-
Steering wheel and pedals;
-
Headset and microphone (All drivers MUST be connected to TeamSpeak).
1.4 - Safety Rating Requirements
The ESS GT3 S2 championship is a PRO/AM series, held on the driving simulation Assetto Corsa Competizione. The event is open to all drivers, regardless of their Safety Ranking, meaning even drivers at their first experience on Esportseries.net are welcome to join.
1.5 - Basic Information
Only the first 40 drivers who prequalify and confirm their participation to the ongoing event will be allowed to qualify and race in an official session, meaning that the entry fee (see Article 2.2) only grants access to the pre-qualifying period. Barred the exceptions described in Article 3.4, drivers will have to meet the following criteria to qualify for a championship round:
-
Be among the first 40 fastest drivers on the per-qualifying server.
-
Record at least 15 valid laps on the pre-qualifying server;
-
Confirm their participation within the end of the pre-qualifying period (tab "Championships" → select "Confirm Participation").
The pre-qualifying period will start 10 days before the day of the race, and will run for an entire week.
Drivers are asked to confirm their participation to the race only when they're certain to fulfil their commitment. This must be done before the end of the pre-qualifying period. No exceptions will be made.
Drivers can cancel their participation at any time from the same page they previously confirmed their participation, always within the end of the pre-qualifying period.
As specified in Article 2.5 of this document, pre-qualified drivers who confirm their participation only to result absent the day of the race will be penalized.
Drivers who qualified 41st and lower are suggested to nonetheless confirm their participation to the race in case a slot opens up. Results are updated on an hourly basis, meaning that standings will be made official only at the end of the last practice session.
Drivers who failed to prequalify are considered "reserve drivers" and will be allowed to take part in the official race session, from the fastest to the slowest, only in case of pre-qualified drivers failing to show up before the end of the official qualifying session (please read Article 3.4 for further details).
Reserve drivers must show up on TeamSpeak before the start of the event, taking care of informing a Staff member of their willingness to race. Should slots be available at the end of the qualifying session, then reserve drivers (and eventual wildcards) will be allowed to join the race lining up on the back of the grid, according to their pre-qualifying time (see Article 3.7).

Drivers will be given everything they need to act independently from the start to the end of the event. Neither the Staff of Esportseries.net nor the Race Direction is responsible for technical inconvenience due to unforeseeable events, hardware faults, own forgetfulness or partial/total lack of knowledge of race-day procedures.
Whoever wishes to receive clarifications or voice support, can and must do it during the days preceding the race by joining TeamSpeak, preferably from 21:00 CET (GMT +1) onwards, or by scheduling a meeting at a different time, provided the Staff is capable of welcoming the request.
1.7 - Official Means of Communication
During the days preceding the official event, the Race Direction will communicate with all drivers and teams by using the shoutbox in the homepage and by sending private messages via email or though the private messaging system included on the website.

The Drivers' Briefing starts at 21:00 CET (GMT +1) and ends at 21:15 CET (GMT +1) the latest.
The Drivers' Briefing is a service offered to prevent drivers from making major mistakes during official sessions, but can not inform regarding all the necessary championship rules one should know beforehand.
During the Briefing, the Race Direction:
-
reminds drivers of all standard procedures to follow during and between sessions;
-
gives directions regarding the behaviour to adopt when exiting the pits (some tracks require special attention, meaning drivers will have to follow the procedures dictated by the Race Direction, if they don't want to incur into post-race penalties);
-
informs drivers regarding non-standard procedures, rules or behaviours to follow during the scheduled race.
Drivers absent from the Briefing will be allowed to join the qualifying session at any time, as well as the race session, provided this one hasn't yet started. However, they won't be allowed to ask for a repetition of the Drivers' Briefing, and any breaching of the rules will be severely penalized.
1.10 - Time Schedule for Official Sessions
Both qualifying and race are held on Monday, starting from 21:15 CET (GMT+1) immediately after the Drivers' Briefing which will take place at 21:00 CET (GMT +1).

2.4 - Team Representative
All teams must elect a representative or a team manager and communicate their in THIS THREAD. Their persona is fundamental, as they are the only one allowed to elect the base paring (the two drivers who contribute to their team's score tally) and change this paring. Changes to the base paring can be made until the day of the race by 20:00 CET (GMT +1) the latest (see Article 5.3 for more details regarding team scoring and changes to the scoring pair).
In case of events with more than 40 confirmed drivers, no-showers who had confirmed their participation and weren't substituted by another driver will be docked 1.5 points from their Safety Rating.
In case of unforeseen situations where a pre-qualified driver is unable to attend the race, it's up to them to find a suitable replacement, to avoid the aforementioned penalty.
Should a driver incur in multiple no-shows, the Administration can decide, at its sole discretion, to disqualify them from the championship or ban them from the Portal.

2.7 - Custom Skins
The division between PRO and AM drivers only reflects their licence (and thus their Safety Ranking) on Esportseries.net, but has no effect on the final standings of the race.
All race numbers appearing on the cars are handled by the Race Direction via the server entry-list.
. Should drivers wish to use a custom skin, this will have to be created from within the simulator, and won't have to be shared on the Esportseries.net website.not compulsoryCustoms skins are
2.8 - Entry Limit for Teams
Although the eRanking system provided by Esportseries.net is "open", meaning it's mostly structured around the career of the single sim-driver, with only secondary importance attributed to teams, the latter group is nonetheless strongly discouraged from signing up multiple drivers to the same championship.
However, trusting both the maturity and sportsmanship of all participants, and especially the team managers', the Esportseries.net Staff prefers not to put any restriction on signups from members of the same team, but has the right to refuse, especially during the closing stages of the championship, new drivers from joining the season.

3.1 - Pre-Qualifying Period
Access to every race is determined by a week-long pre-qualifying period starting 10 days before the day of the race, meaning from 18:00 CET (GMT +1) on Friday until next Friday at 18:00 CET (GMT +1).
IMPORTANT: given the impossibility to record the exact time a lap is set, pre-qualifying will close at the end of the last practice session, as long as this session started before 18:00 CET (GMT +1). For each session, a .json file is saved. This file contains the start and end times for the session in question. All sessions which ended before 19:00 CET (GMT +1) will be taken into account, while sessions started after this hour will be ignored.
The fastest 40 drivers qualify for the official race, provided they complete at least 15 valid laps and confirm their participation. Participation must be confirmed before the end of the pre-qualifying period. Drivers should confirm their participation as soon as they know their availability, to avoid being excluded from the event (in case of more than 40 confirmed drivers) and being demoted to a wild card status for the rest of the event.

All lap times must be set on the EsportSeries - Prequalifying Rx server (where x is a number between 1 to 5, depending on the current round), set on free practice mode. The server will remain open 24/7 for the entirety of the pre-qualifying period. An entry list will be in place, and players will need a password to enter the server. The password will be sent by email as soon as the player registers for the championship/single event. Passwords are also visible on the EsportSeries.net website, by selecting the tab "Signups" → "Current Signups" → "Championship Ticket" (for drivers participating in the full championship) or "Signups" → "Current Signups" → "Round x - [Circuit Name]" (for drivers participating in a single race).
For every race, the current pre-qualifying standings will be visible on the EsportSeries.net website, by accessing the page dedicated to the ongoing event and selecting the "Prequalifying" tab. To access this page, please select the tab "Championships" → "ACC GT3 Season 2" → "Races" → "Round x".
3 - OFFICIAL SESSIONS
3.2 - Event Requirements
For reasons related to the eRanking system, at least 15 confirmed drivers are needed in order for the event to take place. Race Direction has the right to postpone or cancel the event otherwise. Race Direction might also decide to let the event go ahead as planned, but nullify its effect on drivers' eRating.
Both qualifying and race will be held on Monday, starting from 21:15 CET (GMT +1 – immediately after the Drivers' Briefing).
For time-related reasons, drivers are asked to be on time by showing up on TeamSpeak within 20:55 CET (GMT +1) the latest. The Drivers' Briefing will take place at 21:00 CET (GMT +1).
In order to take part in the official qualifying and race sessions, drivers must necessarily confirm their participation before the end of the pre-qualifying period by selecting "Championships" → "Confirm Participation" → "ESS GT3 S2" → "Participate". Drivers failing to confirm their participation will be excluded from the event, even if they completed the minimum number of required laps. If drivers finds themselves unable to attend the event after giving their participation, they'll be able to cancel it (on the same page where they confirmed it) before the end of the pre-qualifying period.
Drivers' statuses are always available by accessing the "Prequalifying" tab on the webpage dedicated to the ongoing event.
If at the end of the pre-qualifying period at least 40 drivers fulfil the laps requirement and have confirmed their attendance to the race, the entry list will be deemed full, and the remaining sim-drivers won't be able to take part in the event, barred last-minute absences from qualified drivers. If this is case, players who pre-qualified 41st or lower will be able to compete, provided they also completed the minimum number of laps and confirmed their participation to the event. These drivers will be considered "reserve drivers". Unless drivers can communicate their absence to Race Direction in good time (penalties described in Article 2.5 apply nonetheless), reserve drivers will only be able to join the server after qualifying ends, lining up on the back on the grid according to their pre-qualifying time.
Drivers may also take part in the race as a "wild card", provided the following conditions are met:
-
at least one slot available;
-
no reserve drivers available to fill the slot(s);
-
Wild cards must be regularly signed up for the championship (or the single race).
Please note that reserve drivers always have priority over wild cards.
Both reserve drivers (drivers who qualified 41st or lower, fulfilled the laps requirement and confirmed their participation) and wild cards (drivers who didn't fulfil the laps requirement and/or failed to confirm their participation) will have to show up on TeamSpeak by 20:40 CET (GMT +1) the latest, communicating to the Race Direction their willingness to take part in the event. These players will be allowed to join the race only in case of available slots, meaning:
-
one or more drivers, among the first 40 pre-qualified drivers, doesn't confirm their participation;
-
one or more pre-qualified drivers don't show up by the end of the qualifying session;
-
less than 40 pre-qualified drivers;
Reserve drivers have priority over wild cards. It is therefore suggested to always complete the minimum number of laps during the pre-qualifying period and confirm one's own participation within the same period, to have a higher chance to take part in the official event.
3.4 - Confirmations, Reserve Drivers and Wildcards
3.5 - Qualifying and Race Length + Procedures
Qualifying lasts for 20 minutes.
The race is run on a distance of 1 hour and 45 minutes (excluding the formation lap)
Once the Drivers' Briefing is over, drivers will have to wait for the Race Direction's whisper before joining the server. Please update your server list by typing "esportseries" in the search bar. Drivers must make sure to select the correct car (chosen when filling the sign up form), then must type in the password they received via email after registering for the championship/event. This password can also be found on the EsportSeries.net website, by selecting the tab "Signups" → "Current Signups".
The qualifying session is preceded by a 5-minute-long free practice session, to give drivers enough time to join the server. Players on the server are free to get on track and warm up.
At the end of the free practice session, the last driver to cross the finish line has a further 180 seconds to complete their last timed attempt. When the countdown hits zero, or when the last driver on track completes their lap, the simulator automatically moves to the qualifying session. A whisper message will follow. Drivers can get on track as soon as the session goes green – they do need to wait for the whisper. Drivers are invited to keep their TeamSpeak audio active during the first minutes of the session, to avoid missing eventual communications regarding technical problems which require the server to be restarted.
Latecomers or drivers who lost connection to the server can rejoin at anytime.
At the end of the qualifying session, the last driver to cross the finish line has a further 180 seconds to complete their last timed attempt. When the countdown hits zero, or when the last driver on track completes their lap, the simulator automatically ends the qualifying session and starts a new free practice session. Drivers are invited to stay on the server until this new session is underway. Once the free practice session is running, the Race Direction will close the server. A 10-minute break will follow. This break is necessary to give Race Direction time to create the entry list for the race.
After the 10-minute break, the race server will be launched. Drivers must wait for the Race Direction's whisper before joining the server. The race session will be preceded by a 10-minute-long warm-up session (which will take place 1 hour earlier than the in-game race start time). The last driver to cross the finish line will have a further 180 seconds to complete their last timed attempt. When the last driver on track completes their lap, the game will automatically move to the race session. A 2-minute countdown preceding the formation lap will follow.
Drivers suffering connection problems or technical issues are allowed to rejoin the server within the end of the warm-up session.
Drivers will not be able to join the server during the 2-minute countdown preceding the official race start.
Once the race is over and after having completed their cool down lap (optional), drivers will be allowed to leave the server and log off TeamSpeak, with the exception of the top-three finishers, which will be interviewed live shortly after the race end.

Drivers who lose connection to the server may rejoin it at anytime and resume their qualifying attempt.
Drivers may return to the pits by completing an in lap, or by stopping in a designated safe spot on track. These spots will be made known by the Race Stewards during the Drivers' Briefing, or via forum post depicting the spots in question via screenshot(s). These images will always be uploaded by 20:00 CET (GMT +1) the latest. Stopping on a non-designated place may result in a penalty if the episode is formally protested.

Drivers are allowed to finish their last flying lap provided they crossed the finish line before the end of the qualifying session. Drivers will have 180 seconds to complete their final timed attempt.
All drivers must adhere to the Articles illustrated in Chapter 7 of the Code of Conduct, and are also expected to follow eventual supplementary rules communicated by Race Direction during the Drivers' Briefing.
For this championship, Article 14.32 of the General Regulation (107% rule) is repealed.
Once the qualifying session is over, drivers must save their replay (by pressing the ESC key and then selecting Replay → Save Replay) and remain on the server, waiting for the race to start. Race Direction might ask drivers for their replay in the post-race.
3.7 - Starting Grid
Drivers will line up on the starting grid according to their fastest qualifying time.
Drivers who failed to set a valid lap time, reserve drivers and wild cards will line up as follows:
1) Drivers who set a valid lap time (in qualifying order);
2) Drivers who failed to set a valid lap time (in pre-qualifying order);
3) Reserve drivers (in pre-qualifying order);
4) Wild cards (in pre-qualifying order).

3.8 - Race: Starting Procedure
Drivers must be present on TeamSpeak throughout the entirety of the race session.
Drivers may join at anytime during the 10-minute-long warm-up session which precedes the race.
Once the warm-up session is over, drivers won't be able to connect to the server, nor ask for a session restart.
There will be no lag lap.
The EsportSeries.net Staff can not exclude future modifications to the starting procedure following substantial changes to the simulator by Kunos Simulazioni.

The race will begin with a rolling start. The Safety Car (a red-and-white Lamborghini Gallardo R-EX) will lead the group for the entirety of the formation lap.
Please note that the Safety Car will line up on the first slot on the grid, meaning all drivers will find themselves shifted by one place compared to their qualifying position. This is normal.
Once the lights go out, the leader must wait for the Safety Car to move before doing so themselves. All other drivers will do the same, waiting for the car they have in front to move first. We remind to less experienced drivers that your closest opponent might be alongside you, so please check your radar and memorize the name of the drivers in front and behind you.
Drivers must not have their speed limiter on during the formation lap.
The Safety Car will drive around 110 km/h (± 10 km/h, or 70 mph ± 6 mph), unless differently specified by the Race Direction during the Drivers' Briefing.
Drivers who illegally end up gaining one or more positions during the starting procedure, must hand them back during the formation lap by slowing their car down. Failure to do so will result in a double penalty (the breaching driver will be demoted by a number of places double to the number of places gained illegally), provided the incident is formally protested. The overtaken must not block in any way the overtaker, even if the former deems the overtake illegal. It will be up to the Race Direction to analyse and penalize all protest received in the post-race. Blocking an overtake or causing a contact will be punished the same way as an illegal overtake (a double penalty which may be further exacerbated by the dangerousness of the protested manoeuvre).

To avoid unnecessary delays or incidents, drivers who suffer a technical problem during the starting procedure must immediately leave the server. Other competitors will be allowed to overtake another driver if their car hasn't moved within 5 seconds following their closest opponent's departure. Drivers are also allowed to overtake other cars when these move excessively slowly on the track, to the point the closest competitor is getting more and more out of reach. Drivers who lose one or more positions during these phases can recover their original grid position by (safely!) overtaking the cars in front. In such cases, drivers recovering their original grid position may drive at a speed slightly higher than 110 km/h (70 mph), but their behaviour must not constitute an hazard for other drivers on track. Drivers may flash their lights to signal their overtaking intentions to the car in front. Drivers who fail to recover their original grid position before the audio/video message asking drivers to line up in double file will lose their original grid slot and will not be allowed to make further overtakes until the race goes green.
Drivers who lose their position following an off or a loss of control are not allowed to retake their original grid position. They will, however, be able to rejoin the group, provided they do not exceed the speed limit of 110 km/h ± 10 km/h (70 mph ± 6 mph).
Drivers who suffer an off must also safely rejoin the track without gaining any advantage over the other cars. In cases where this is not possible, corner cutting may be an option, but all positions gained illegally will have to be handed back as soon as possible. Failure to comply to these rules will result in a double penalty, provided the incident is formally protested.
During the formation lap:
- Drivers must line up in a single file, keeping a safe distance from the car in front to reduce the risk of collisions;
- The distance from the car in front (including the Safety Car in case of the pole sitter) must be below 45 metres (50 yards). This is equivalent to around 10 cars;
- Drivers are allowed to warm up their brakes and to zigzag in order to warm up their tyres, until the moment they are invited to line up in double file. From this moment on, drivers must refrain from zigzagging and/or warming up their brakes, and continue driving in a single file, disregarding the previous communication received by the simulator;
- When the Safety Car leaves, the pole sitter will have to keep driving within the speed limit of 110 km/h ± 10 km/h (70 mph ± 6 mph), or the limit specified by Race Direction during the Drivers' Briefing;
- The pole sitter, until the message inviting drivers to line up in double file, must adjust their speed according to the pace of the Safety Car;
- The pole sitter, after the message inviting drivers to line up in double file and following the Safety Car departure, will be allowed to set their own pace, but must remain within the specified speed limit (110 km/h or 70 mph, when not otherwise specified by the Race Direction during the Drivers' Briefing);
- The pole sitter must speed up once the lights go green;
- Overtakes can be initiated only after the lights have turned green.

3.9 - Race Rules
In-game penalties are fully handled by the simulator, and must be served at all times.
Flashing lights to another driver is only allowed when lapping a car or when regaining one's own grid position during the formation lap. Any other use is deemed illegal and will be penalized, if protested.
Flashing lights during qualifying is always illegal and will be penalized, if protested.
Drivers who lose connection with the server won't be allowed to rejoin once the race is underway.
Drivers are free to come up with their own race strategy.
Once the race is over, all drivers must save their replay and stay on the server until further communication (via TeamSpeak whisper function) by the Race Direction.
Once the race is over, all drivers must save their replay and stay on the server until further communication (via TeamSpeak whisper function) by the Race Direction.
3.10 - Server Crash
Should the server crash during the qualifying session, this will be repeated in its entirety during the same night of the event.
If, instead, the server crashes during the race session:
-
If at least 50% of the race distance has been completed, then the race results up to that moment will be officialised and full points will be awarded;
-
If less than 50% of the race distance has been completed, then the race will be cancelled and no points will be awarded. Cancelled races will not be rescheduled. The ballast allocation will remain the same for the next event.
3.11 - Pit Exit
During qualifying, drivers are expected to give way to the cars on track and avoid constituting an obstacle, thus avoiding placing their car near the apex or the braking point for the first corner.
Any breach (regardless of the session) will be penalized with a base penalty (demotion of one position in the final standings of the race).
In all cases, drivers must file a protest if they believe they've been damaged by another competitor leaving the pit lane, so that the episode can be analysed by the Racing Stewards.
, drivers are asked to fully stop their car before joining the track if other competitors are coming or are occupying the section of the track around the pit exit.For tracks lacking an acceleration lane and during qualifying only
In accordance with Article 14.44 of the General Regulations, it is always forbidden (both during qualifying and race sessions) to fully cross (with all four wheels) the (generally white) line on the pit exit.
This rule is applied even more rigorously (both during qualifying and race sessions) when other cars occupy the track in close proximity to the pit exit. In this case, drivers must keep their car fully inside the acceleration lane.
3.12 - Corner Cutting
Penalties for corner cutting are fully handled by the simulator.
3.13 - Exclusion due to Ping Problems
The Race Direction is free to exclude, at any time, drivers whose ping is highly unstable or exceeds 150ms for an extended period of time, in order to prevent lag-related incidents. Such drivers won't receive any notice before being excluded from the race.
Race Direction does not guarantee the continuous monitoring of all drivers' latency over the course of the event (excluding the very first laps of the race), but will nonetheless perform random checks at any time.
3.14 - Retirement
drivers will not be allowed to rejoin the race. Breaching drivers will be disqualified.If, during the race, drivers return to the pits by pressing the ESC key, or find themselves teleported back to the pits following an off, this is equivalent to a retirement and, as such,
4 - PROTESTS, PENALTIES AND BALLAST ALLOCATION
4.1 - Protests
Protests represent the only way available to ensure the proper development of the Championship and to educate the most inexperienced (or aggressive) drivers to respect their opponents and the Code of Conduct.
Starting from the 2019-2020 season, protests will need to be filed even for incidents occurred during the first lap of the race.
Starting from Tuesday at 20:00 CET (GMT +1) and for the next 24 hours, drivers involved in an incident may appeal to the Race Stewards by filling the form found under the section "Championships" → "File a Protest". The Race Stewards will then analyse and evaluate all episodes reported within the deadline, awarding penalties where necessary.
As mentioned in Article 10.3 of the General Regulations, incidents occurred during an official session can be protested both by the drivers involved and by the team managers. Protests concerning episodes which do not involve the driver who filed the protest will be ignored.
When filing a protest, drivers are asked to provide a timestamp according to the official replay downloadable from the section "Championships" → "Downloads" → "Replays 2019/2020" → "ACC GT3 S2".
All fields must be filled when filing a protest. Any essential information about the episode in question may be inserted into the notes. Please refrain from writing personal opinions and considerations, as they will be ignored.
Protest which fail to specify the session (qualifying or race) or misreport names and/or timestamps will be ignored.
4.2 - Post-Race Penalty System
Two kinds of penalty exist:
a) sRating Base Penalty (sR Penalty): this penalty is equivalent to a loss of 0.375 points in Safety Rating (sR);
b) Championship Base Penalty (Championship Penalty): drivers receiving this penalty will be demoted by one position in the final race standings.
The number of sR Penalties and Championship Penalties one might incur is the same, provided the latter number is not doubled due to incidents or accidents caused during the formation lap or the first lap of the race.
Generally speaking, for every position lost by the damaged party, the Race Direction awards one (1) sR Penalty and one (1) Championship Penalty (which can be doubled for the aforementioned reasons). sR Penalties can be more or less harsh depending on a number of variables. Penalties will be more severe if the cause of the incident is due to dangerous driving (such as failure to rejoin the track in a safe manner) or unsportsmanlike behaviour (such as ignoring blue flags). On the other hand, penalties can be laxer if the breaching driver only has partial responsibility in the incident, or if they promptly give back the position(s) they gained illicitly (such as after a collision or a forced overtake).
The Race Direction might also decide to award a warning rather than a full penalty.
Drivers can accumulate up to two warnings before receiving an sR and a Championship Penalty in the last race they took part in. Warnings can be accumulated over multiple championships.

Drivers can accumulate up to two warnings before receiving an sR and a Championship Penalty in the last race they took part in. Warnings can be accumulated over multiple championships.
For this championship, a new penalty system will be in place. This system, if deemed to be an improvement over the previous one (described in Chapter 11 of the General Regulations), might be applied to all future championships, starting from the next season on Esporteries.net.
Drivers affected by one or more Championship Penalties will be demoted a number of places in the final race standings.
This penalty can also be converted in a time penalty, to allow non-penalized (or less-penalized) drivers to climb up the standings.
Let us now consider two drivers, A and B, where A precedes B in the final race standings.
A is penalized and gets demoted to the position currently held by B.
B may or may not be penalized. If they are penalized, their penalty is less severe than A's.
A's penalty can now be converted into a time penalty. Their time penalty is equivalent to (race time of B - race time of A) + 0.001s.
This conversion is applicable only between drivers on the same number of laps. If part or the entirety of the base penalty can not be converted into a time penalty, then the remainder of the base penalty is served by demoting the breaching driver by an appropriate amount of virtual positions, meaning a (further) loss in championship points, Safety Rating and eRating. Drivers with the least amount of base penalties will be given the higher place in the final standings in case of a tie following the application of all penalties.
In case Championship Penalties can not be applied in their entirety, the breaching driver won't earn any championship points from that race (no points will be taken off from future races or from the driver's current tally). sR Penalties will always be applied in their entirety, affecting both the eRating and the sRating.
Being an experimental system, disqualification from the event won't follow strict criteria, depending instead on the seriousness of the incident and a series of other factors, including: reiteration, preparation, lack of sportsmanship and/or respect for other drivers, etc. Disqualification will result in a loss of 16.875 Safety Ranking points.
Penalties are given by the Race Stewards only once the race is completed.
It is possible to ask for clarifications regarding the decisions taken by the Race Stewards (in a civil manner and without insisting, should the explanation be considered unsatisfactory), but all judgments are made final the moment they're published, and cannot be reviewed further. Such matters are to be discussed only via Esportseries.net private messaging system.
It is strictly forbidden to publically challenge the decisions taken by the Race Stewards.

A penalty weight system is in place for the ESS GT3 S2 championship. Ballast will be allocated at the end of each event to the top three finishers.
Post-race penalties, with the sole exception of disqualification, won't affect the ballast allocation for the next race.
Post-race penalties, with the sole exception of disqualification, won't affect the ballast allocation for the next race.
For each race, ballast is allocated as follows:
First place: +40kg
Second place: +30kg
Third place: +20kg
Finishing outside the podium will decrease the amount of penalty weight one has to carry:
Fourth place: -20kg
Fifth place: -30kg
Sixth place and lower: -40kg
Drivers can accumulate up to 80kgs in penalty weight. The amount of ballast can not be negative.
Drivers lose penalty weight only when they finish outside the podium in a race which saw them compete. Skipping a race (or failing to show up) doesn't decrease a driver's penalty weight.
Penalty weight is not applied throughout the pre-qualifying period.
Penalty weight is not applied throughout the pre-qualifying period.
4.3 - Ballast Allocation (Penalty Weight)
All drivers who take part in a race are classified according to the number of laps they completed, and will receive points provided they covered more than 90% of the race distance.

5.3 - Team Points, Base Paring and Change of Base Paring
Team Standings and Driver Standings are independent from one another.
To compete in the Team Standings, each team must be formed by at least two drivers competing in the championship.
To compete in the Team Standings, each team must be formed by at least two drivers competing in the championship.
For every race, only two drivers can contribute to their team tally. Should a team have more than two drivers competing in a race, only the base pairing will contribute to the team's tally (see Article 2.4), provided the team representative (or the team manager) hasn't communicated a different pairing within 20:00 CET (GMT +1) on the day of the race. The base pairing must be made known only once before the start of the first event the team takes part in, by 20:00 CET (GMT +1) the latest, by clicking on the tab "Championships" → "Set Eligibility for Team Points" → "Add Pairing".
Should a team fail to nominate a base pairing, the two worst placed drivers (including DNFs) will contribute toward their team tally, until a base paring is made known by following the previously described procedure (and deadlines).
Should a team fail to nominate a base pairing, the two worst placed drivers (including DNFs) will contribute toward their team tally, until a base paring is made known by following the previously described procedure (and deadlines).
Teams are allowed to change their scoring pairing until the day of the race by 20:00 CET (GMT +1) the latest.

5.4 - Dead Heat
When two or more drivers (or teams) are tied on points, the higher place will be awarded to the holder of the larger number of wins. If this number is the same, then the number of second places will be counted, and so on. If this procedure doesn't manage to solve the tie, then the decision will be taken according to the results of the last race held.
